After my dental appointment this morning, Sarah and I visited Gracefield Art Centre to see the exhibition "A Hidden Gem", which showcases artworks produced by psychiatric patients in the Crichton Royal Hospital in Dumfries in the 19th century. The extra photo is a detail from one of the artworks, a portrait of a patient by William Bartholomew.
We then went for lunch at The Usual Place, a newly-opened community cafe in Dumfries.
Now we are waiting for the arrival of the Bat Lady. We found a long-eared bat on the floor of the utility room. Despite following instructions on the internet, it seems reluctant to fly away, although it has no visible injuries. The Bat Lady is going to pick it up and give it some tlc and hopefully release it back into the wild.
