The Finish Straight

Today we were running in lovely open beechwood forests, just like down South but more contour lines to confuse us.  The setting was the estate of Darnaway Castle, see extra photo. This is No 1 son racing to the finish after a mere 52 minutes in the forest. He has chosen to run in the M21 Elite category with a lot of international  competitors but takes after his mother and father in that he is usually way down near the bottom of the results, although the competition in his class is far superior than in ours.  He finished 118/140 in his class,  Mr P finished 180/195 and Mrs P 69/92 in theirs.  As you can see we are not after any medals, just enjoying the challenge and the scenery.  No 2 son on the other hand is after medals and he was disappointed with 13/55 place in the M20 Long race.
