Place of Tilliefoure

Even though the summer weather hasn't been very good it's still great to get away for a few days to the lovely Aberdeenshire countryside. Forests to explore, mountains to climb and the River Don just outside the back door ... I'm definitely in the pink!

"Then, as you pass, view pleasant Tillyfour,
Where honest Innes us'd to spend an hour,
Pleas'd with the murmers of the purling flood,
And with the cheerful mavis in the wood"

(From Don, a poem edited by Prof A Forbes in 1814)
