An ordinary life....

Getting scunnered...

Of living in a building site! Even more peed off by the fact we don't have any broadband and a VERY dodgy 3g signal. I feel completely cut off from the world and missing blipping and catching up with all my Blip Pal's journals!!!

Even more stressed by the fact I can't access the OU photography course without Broadband and I'm now 2 and a half weeks behind, with a computer marked assignment due in by Monday!

Decided there was nothing else for it but to head down to our old house, which still has broadband to spend the day there catching up with the course as best I could and submitting the assignment.

Firstly had to make sure that Alan was happy heading off to his new school. His dad got him up and organised and to my relief, despite having to be up half an hour earlier than his old routine, he was full of smiles and in a great mood. Ate his breakfast no problem and was all ready to go when the mini bus arrived. The bus driver and the escort are lovely and Alan seems to like them (he met them briefly on Monday when they popped in to say hello) and he went off with a smile on his face. Phew!

I headed off to Cumbernauld but before going to the house, popped into my old workplace to hand in thank you cards and buy some supplies for lunch. I arrived at the time I usually did when I was working and automatically went to sign in on the staff sheet before realising there was a valid reason for my name no longer being on it!

Was lovely to see everyone (hello Heather and Anne....I know you will be reading this after patiently waiting for my BB connection to be sorted! :-))

Felt strange to be back in the almost empty house. All at once familiar yet strange at the same time. No longer our home as almost all the things that made it our home are no longer there. Made a cuppa and set to work. Managed to work my way through 2 sections of my course and get my CMA submitted and by that point it was after 6pm! Time to head home!

Alan was home and fed, tired but full of the joys. Asked him if he'd had a good day at school and got an enthusiastic yes response. (I knew this already as the Head Teacher phoned late morning to say he had settled well then I spoke to the Speech Therapist in the afternoon and she also reported he was having a good day but it was great to see him confirm it! )

Fingers crossed he wants to go back tomorrow!
