Great Crested Grebe

In full view of everybody, this Great Crested Grebe & partner have established a nest & she's sitting on the eggs. Helpfully the male was and has been adorning the nest with all sorts of superfluous bits of rubbish! The basic structure is sound and quite elegant, just such a shame there is rubbish on it.
What a beautiful sight, these birds are what getting up early and staying all day at a great location is all about. I could watch this bird & her beautiful mate all day, sadly my boys don't have quite the same enthusiasm, but I'm working on it!
