Pilatus

An early start as we set out with friends as a group to complete the Pilatus tour. It's a multi-transport circuit starting on a boat in Lucerne. The boat trip was fabulous, and the blip is of one of the amazing views we had on the journey.

The next leg was up the mountain on the train, which is the world's steepest cogwheel railway. It's crazy - heading steeply up a maximum gradient of 48%. Some of the party got off halfway and walked the top part. The rest of us went to the top on the train and walked down a small way to meet the walkers and have a picnic.

The next leg of the tour is on the cable car - down part way to the summer toboggan ride. Chris took to this enthusiastically, reaching 46km/h before falling out a couple of times and gaining some minor injuries. Unperturbed, he got back into the toboggan and continued his run each time...

The round trip was completed with a further gondola ride and bus back to the start. An amazing meal ended a really wonderful day.
