Cardinal Closeup

A Northern Cardinal taken from our bathroom early this morning, on the compost enclosure of our next-door condominium.  The treatment is window-screen, personal to me.

We then headed off to Manhattan, to take Daralee back home and to spend a couple of days in the Big Apple. We saw two superb exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum  on two of America's very best painters--a real treat:   1)  "Portraits of Artists and Friends" by John Singer Sargent;  2)  "Navigating the West: George Caleb Bingham and the River".  The latter brings together essentially all of Bingham's marvelous scenes of river people in the American West of the 1840s and 1850's. .
