Peacock Butterfly

After church I wandered down to the graveyard at the back with a view to getting some pictures for cemetery Sunday. The sun was shining, and I was hoping for something along the lines of flower / gravestones. But my attention was taken by a couple of butterflies. I don't generally see many butterflies - despite my buddleia, I've had none in the garden that I've seen. In the graveyard there were 4 wood white's, fluttering along the bushes at the edge. They were far too jittery for me to get close enough for a shot. Then I spotted this Peacock butterfly. They may be common in the British Isles, but they are stunningly beautiful.
