RESTING PLACE

Dozens of these War Grave headstones for servicemen killed in the First World War have recently appeared scattered in the two old disused cemeteries that I often prowl for blips. Because they're all over the place, and not gathered together in one part of the cemetery I assume that they've been placed over known graves marked in the burial records somewhere (someone once told me that this cemetery holds 10,000 burials, which I find extraordinary). I don't recall reading anywhere about a project to erect these headstones. Is it a national thing, does anyone out there know?
