Shoe shop owner, just re opened his shop after siesta.

A beautiful walk through the misty mountains this morning. I thoroughly enjoyed it. We saw chickens, cows, horses, we heard sheep, the mist came in and rolled over the paths we were walking, then we descended into the open valleys into the sun.

Along the river next to where we are staying some ducks and swans were paddling. An idyllic day.

But one of our conversations along the way reminded us of the economic realities in Spain. A lovely couple from Burgos chatted with us - he is an engineer, she is an accountant. But she has been out of work for some time and is struggling to stay positive amidst the constant applications for a job and the resultant rejections. 25% unemployment is not funny.
