Renaissance cloisters

We went to the station this morning to see where we could go for a day trip and decided on Brescia. The guidebook was distinctly dismissive of the town, saying there wasn't much to see or do there, so we were surprised to find lots of Roman remains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and quite a few museums (quite apart from the piazzas, churches etc that you'd expect in an Italian city). We could also have visited the castle, but it was much too hot to walk up the hill!
The picture is of the Renaissance cloisters in the UNESCO designated Santa Giulia Town Museum, a very well appointed museum in an 8th century monastery complex built on an earlier Roman site and with later additions, including a sanctuary with magnifcent frescoes.
