Northern Suburbs

Today I was teaching out and about in the community. Its one of the joys of my new job, there is a community element. Luckily todays location, in the north east of the town, was easy to find. This is the Hulton area of Bolton, which seems like a pleasant suburb, full of spaces and 3 bedroom detached and semi detached houses. The golf course is within walking distance. Does it have a northern feel? I still think there are regional variations in our towns and cities. Some of that shows up in the type and range of shops, sometimes in the architecture of the houses. Northern towns favour red brick housing, which does give a sort of warmth to the landscape.
