A Tale of Two Tony's (and an Alan)

We are so fortunate to have the Edinburgh Fringe and Festival on our doorstep. Another fab day.

This morning we saw "Tony's Last Tape" - an amazing one man show based on the last days of Tony Benn, sat in his study dictating his memoirs. Philip Bretherton was sensational - incredibly powerful and moving. I cried - a lot.

Then the second of the two "Missing Hancocks" - the lost episodes of Hancocks Half Hour. Equally as good as the first show - if not better. And we got the chance to pass on our appreciation to the director, Neil Pearson - who was so gracious and charming.

Tonight it was Alan Davies, in his stand-up show "Work in Progress". I first saw him as a stand up in Edinburgh at least 15 years ago, and I loved him just as much after his hiatus via TV drama and panel shows. His delivery is fantastic, especially when he finds his rhythm. Older, more reflective - but still super sharp.
