Focused
A very busy day, starting with a trip out on the river in the dinghy with Mr E and young Mckenzie. I was nervous that he would act foolishly and fall in, as he's prone to getting too excited (Mckenzie not Mr E!) but he behaved impeccably.
We set off from just outside Lechlade and made our way up to St. John's lock, back towards Lechlade and the source of the Thames. I heard and then spotted a kingfisher, that flew around us for quite a while and at one stage headed straight for us. Typically, I had no camera with me.
We moored up in a quiet field, or so we thought, for a picnic, only to be chased by a huge herd of cows! (That's the last time I trust Mr E to pick a picnic spot! Mind you, I've not seen him run that fast for a long time!!)
After dropping Mckenzie back off at home, Mr E accompanied me to the Chimney Meadow hide where we saw absolutely nothing!! I had to resort to taking a photo of thistles with my new lens.
We got home late and whilst cooking dinner, I took a photo through the window of long tailed tits on one of the feeders. I was hoping to put the new lens to better use but there's time yet.
