Tarawera Times

By Megl

Good morning Pukekohe

The view I saw when I looked out the window this morning saw me running to get the camera. An aboslutely clear sky, a small sickle of a moon, and beautiful peach and dark blue sky and the silhouettes of the street light and the flood light stands from the Hockey fields...and it was all gone in a few minutes as the sun rose. A good start to the day....a sunny one although the southerly was a tad cold.

Heatherbelle is doing really well, so after a morning sorting out bits and pieces it was back to Tarawera late this afternoon, with a clear sky...I think we are in for a good freeze tonight.

We are very proud of our local camera club member Tracey Robinson, a pro photographer who has just managed to become The New Zealand Photographer of the Year at the annual NZIPP awards held in Queenstown this week. You may be interested in checking her award images online. Tracey is a real inspiration to all of us, and always available to help us out. She is also a member of the honours board of the PSNZ, one very busy lady.  If you check out her image of the coffin in the lounge which gained her a gold with distinction award - well the lady in the coffin is another one of our camera club members Katie, who set up the "Coffin Club " in Rotorua. They gather once a week to make their own coffins and decorate them, as well as making small ones for parents of still born children. BTW it was all a setup....Katie is very much alive!!!
