Flooded

It didn't rain today - a second day without rain - but the fields along the Ardyne shore path show the effect of this dire summer. The black cattle that sometimes line the fence have been moved, and the lake that is sometimes just a small puddle has grown to a sizeable feature. This section of the field is well below the level of the road and seems to have little chance of draining onto the shore.

Among the sheep towards the left of the photo - in a line between the prominent trees and their reflections - you may be able to make out the brown forms of several Canada Geese which seemed quite at home here.
