Surf City

by Jan & Dean

Picked up some chantarelles and blueberries on the island connected to ours via a narrow isthmus. Found this net of spider webs on the forest floor - a surfer's paradise. The blueberry twigs made nice shadows on the net.

Hoped to have a nice shooting star capture as it was the night of the perseids. Unfortunately it rained and was overcast. The skies cleared after 3 and I woke up at 3:30 to take photos. Did it for 45 minutes and saw the most fantastic shooting star that I have ever seen. It lasted at least a second, was close, and covered a long part of the sky - unfortunately not the part my camera covered. Got finally a camera shot of one just before I had to stop as the sky was already getting light, and have included that as an extra.
