View of Loch Harray from Stoneyhill

His Lordship on pain of a messy divorce allowed me to have some cereal before we hit the road this morning on a circular tour from Stromness to Dounby and back home by Stoneyhill. This is the view from the top of the hill looking over Loch Harray.
I don't think we have ever seen bluer lochs than in Orkney, and set amongst green fields the effect is absolutely stunning.

This afternoon we carted some extraneous bits and bobs such as walking boots and poles through to the the stricken car in Kirkwall. We took it as a good sign that the car had been moved by the garage to a parking space outside our weekend accommodation, meaning that even if it only runs at 10 mph in first gear, we were likely to get it onto the ferry on Monday night.

A quick turn around and we are home again in Stromness for a meal at a nearby restaurant which we have never graced before.
Hopefully we will manage a walk in the evening sun before the dire forecast of heavy rain tomorrow.
