Another Priory Memorandum

This is an embroidery of the Priory seal and shows the building as it was before the central tower collapsed or was taken down in about 1415.  It was originally a Norman cruciform church with a nave, quire and north and south aisles.  The inscription reads 'The Seal of the Church of the Trinity Twynham'. Twynham or Toinham was the original name of the town until the story of the Miraculous Beam caused the name to be changed to Christchurch.

Apologies for the reflection from the windows at the other end of the museum.
