A very fashionable car

This morning I met LadyMarchmont and JR for morning tea and scones at the RAC Club on Pall Mall. It was so good to finally put a face to the name and lovely to meet them. It was all very genteel and tranquil there, a perfect calm oasis in the middle of bustling London. The scones were warm and fresh and the tea was served in pretty china. I enjoyed chatting to them and  the morning flew by.

This image is of the Paul Smith Mini that is on display in the foyer. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Mini in 1998, just two years before its production came to an end, celebrated English fashion designer Paul Smith created a series of limited edition models. Although a number of plain colours were available, including Paul Smith Blue, the real star of the series was the version above, decked out in Sir Paul’s signature multi-hued candy stripes, which was based on a Mini Sprite and powered by a 1,275cc engine.

London was grey with threatening clouds, but thankfully it did not rain until my train pulled into our home station.

A quiet weekend lies ahead, time to catch up an relax.
