Crazy About Birds

Covering All the Bases

First of all - upper left is the pig that a portion of got swirled yesterday for the Abstract Thursday challenge - in case some of you were curious as to what it looks like.

Second - top right is a lazy excuse for a Flower Friday entry - Tiger Swallowtail, on a Buddleia blossom (that's the flower part), with a photobombing Hummingbird Moth zipping past.

Third - lower left are two of a trio of baby Eastern Cottontail Rabbits that arrived at the Wildlife Center of Virginia this morning. Their third sibling had to be euthanized (it appeared to have been born with nothing but vestigial hind legs), but these two seem entirely perfect and healthy. They are still young enough to not yet have their eyes open.

Fourth - my little pal, the young Eastern Gray Squirrel, with a couple of Mourning Doves, having a nutty breakfast this morning. My entry for Squirrel Blip Friday.

There's talk of going downtown tonight for the weekly Fridays After Five event - which we've been ignoring all Summer (it runs from April to October and involves music and strolling around and eating out on the Charlottesville Downtown Mall). The weather is perfect for once, so it seems a reasonable thing to imagine doing. It would mean taking both dogs, which would be a first for us - hard to know how Swee'pea would react to lots of people - but no harm in trying I suppose. In any case, I thought I'd better get my blipping taken care of early just in case. Even odds we'll decide not to bother...
