the little world of me

Bristol Harbour

L and my Dad ventured to Bristol today. We were going to the zoo but the weather was horrendous so we decided to go for something indoors!

However, once we were parked up at the harbour the rain stopped and we had spotted the SS Great Britain on our drive so thought we would go and investigate. This proved more challenging than it first seemed as we were on one side of the river and the ship was on the other, meaning a long walk down the docks to the nearest bridge to then walk back up the other side.

We dipped into the M Shed as it was free. It was very interesting to learn about Bristol's history and some of the old myths too. After several hours in M Shed we were a little hungry so wandered further down the dock towards SS Great Britain and found a lovely little Cafe to eat. After that we got to the big ship to discover you had to pay to get in and as we (L) had decided we were going to the aquarium we didn't really want to pay for that too.

So heading back up the docks and over the bridge. Bristol also have a lovers bridge like in Paris where people attach padlocks, which I thought was lovely. We eventually made it the aquarium where we saw lots of fish, turtles and other creatures of the sea!

All in all, a great day out! even if it wasn't the day we had originally planned
