Puffin in Flight

Boat trip round the Farne Islands with our extended family today - we managed to practically fill our boat as there were 18 of us altogether! I was disappointed to hear that many of the Islands' famous puffins had left after their breeding season, but relieved to find that there were still plenty left. Tricky to photograph as they sped past us to their burrows, beaks laden with fish, but I persevered with a fast shutter speed, full zoom and tracking them across the sky as they flew, and was delighted to get this shot.
