Salvage from the Wreckage

Hair by Atlantic!

An early start so that H and I could get to Penzance in time for our trip with Marine Discovery Penzance. They run wildlife-watching trips using their sailing catamaran. C and I took M on a trip a few years ago and we tried to book a trip for all four of us but there were only two places left this week.

Luckily, they provided oilskins. We needed them!
Some kids spent the trip lying on the net strung between the two hulls. They were completely soaked...

We went as far as Land's End, where it got quite choppy...

We saw seals, hauled out onto the rocks of their favourite island - just outside Mousehole. And Sunfish ( bizarre animals). And a variety of birds - lots of gannets and Manx Shearwaters. No cetaceans, sadly. The afternoon trip were luckier, according to their Facebook feed.

A good trip, but we were glad of a hot snack in a cafe afterwards.

Back to Falmouth and, rather obsessively, I then went out for the daily run. Clocked up 60k for the week! This does sound a bit obsessive...

Then a take-away Balti for which M had to wait ages!
