The backside of the prettiest village in France!

St Guilhem-le-Desert is situated in a gorge of the River Herault and was full of tourists and although I took some enchanting pictures of all the picturesque alleys and stairs, flowers and tiled roofs, windows and chimneys there were many reasons why I couldn't use them. The midday light didn't help. D and I went across the river and looked back at the little town and this is one of the little things we saw. I think the carrier bag makes it! It was a glorious day - I drove - and we finished up at a blacksmith's workshop where he makes incredible, ingenious and hysterically funny animals and shapes out of scrap metals.
