Cragside

I had dinner in a pub in Seahouses last night and got chatting to a group of people. I said I was planning to visit Alnwick Castle today, and they suggested the National Trust property of Cragside, which was very close to Alnwick. As a NT member admission was free, so I thought I'd give it a go. It proved one of the mosy interesting NT properties I've ever visited, with fabulous grounds, and a really interesting house. It was the first property in Britain to have electricity generated on-site by hydro electric power.

Well worth the trip - and a good three-day camping trip.
