Real and Stuffed

Let me first say...that I have never been, and never will be...a hunter. But, in a hunting-frenzied state like Michigan...I have no problem with those who do.

Lisa's cousin Billy is one such hunter. (In fact, he has a son named Hunter.) His beautiful log cabin home is filled with the stuffed animals. Probably cost him a small fortune in taxidermy bills.

He has 11 deer, 5 bears, 2 elk, 2 bobcats, 2 pheasants, 1 coyote, 1 wolverine, 1 otter, 1 fox, and 1 turkey. All either mounted on the walls, or on the floor.

This is my niece Sophie...looking fine...on the deer tines, and grandson Merrick...balancing without fail...on the rail.

It's always fun to visit the family in the north woods, although it was hot today. 88-89F. It kept most everybody inside...with the animals staring down at us.

It is now 11:20 p.m. It has been a long day. 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., with 320 miles on the round trip. I'm off to bed. Tired. Catch up tomorrow.
