Second childhood

It was his nibs birthday yesterday so of course he's gone all nostalgic. His desired pressie was a set of Biggles books, which he's now proudly displaying on the bedroom window sill.

We spent a happy morning sorting out his newly acquired 'Winter Fuel Payment' entitlement after a letter this morning and got the application for a free bus pass in process. DWP were surprisingly easy to contact and sorted the whole WFP out in 5 minutes. Due to the changes in pension age anomalies I don't get either until 2017 despite there being less than a year between us. Still, the winter fuel thingy will help with the electricity bill this winter and we're grateful.
