Turner Gallery

Went to Margate todayto see the Tracy Emin exhibition. Although I think T.E. is a good egg we were distinctly underwhelmed though I liked four of her paintings which were quite abstract and used lovely colours. There for just two days was a huge image of the Queen, her face younger and older made up in turn of lots of smaller images. The overall picture only emerged when standing back. The gallery was buzzing. Lots of people and even coaches being disgorged. Although Margate is generally in a poor way the old higgledy piggledy area around the harbour and Turner is already showing signs of the Turner effect with lots of cafes and trendy shops. We ate in the Ambrette an Indian restaurant in the Good Food Guide - senior citizens three course meal for £10.95 about half price and it was exquisite. Lots of subtle and lovely flavours. Small helpings but by the time we had the between course appetisers etc we were quite replete.
