Bracken and Heather

When we first moved to North Yorkshire 13 years ago the intention was to get out of doors and do lots of walks. Somehow over the years we got bogged down with other things and we are getting more and more unfit.

As it was such a lovely morning we decided to head up to Carlton Bank which is on the Cleveland Way and go for a walk. There is a cafe at Carlton Bank so a coffee was going to be the reward. It was a short walk, only 2 miles with 1326 ft climbed but we did it. The next walk in the book is 2.9 miles and a bit more steep and I'm hoping it will not be too long before we tackle that one. We both said that we could have walked further this morning so that is a good sign.

The heather looked beautiful and the smell of honey was all around. Some of the bracken had already turned to gold yet there was still fresh green stuff around. I have added 3 more in as extras.
