Eyeful Tower in the Westman Islands

A westman, or man from the west, was a word that at the time of settlement was used for celtic slaves that had been captured in Ireland. One of the first settlers in Iceland was murdered by his slaves who then fled to these islands that later were named after them. The other settlers chased the slaves to the islands and killed them.
The picture in the background was taken from the top of Heimaklettur, a cliff towering over the town in the Westman islands.
