Impatiens pallida

This Impatiens grows near streams and other damp places. Its common name is pale touch me not. The touch me not refers not to the leaves, which are not like those of mimosas that will curl up when touched, but to the ripe seed capsules that will spring open when touched. Another name for this plant is jewel weed, referring to drops of water that sometimes form on the leaves making them glisten. The extra shows the whole plant and it may be that the dots on the leaves are drops of water. I couldn't get close enough to touch them.
