Gatekeeper's on Thyme

Sometimes called Hedge Brown, this female Gatekeeper was enjoying the purple flowering thyme growing on top of the garden wall.

Busy day with the harvest in full swing.  The men disappear from dawn til dusk with me in charge of  making picnics for them to eat when they have a moment. T was up all night drying the corn in the dryer, he did snatch a few hours' sleep before starting again this morning. I went to the village shop, supermarket to stock up on picnic food and then to the surgery for a check-up.  N will appear just as it grown dark, tired and dusty from the wheat field.  He's been driving the combine all day.
