An old lady!

I am having amazing fun running my moth trap here in Essex, and whilst some of the moths are the same as the ones I find in my Sussex garden there are also a lot of different species!
Yesterday I caught a Chocolate tip and today a spectacular Clouded magpie just two of many beauties,
This is an Old Lady moth Mormo maura, something I have caught in my garden, but never such an amazingly fresh specimen!
It is a large moth with a wingspan of 70mm, and is found locally throughout the UK in parks and gardens.
It has rained ALL day today, but luckily it seems to be easing off just in time for tonight's trapping! yipee!
