Mostly Six Five Oh

August Evening

An amble around the neighborhood after dinner.  We were moving slowly in the heat and with full bellies.  This looks like the countryside but it's the middle of Portland.  These neighbors have chickens, beehives, lots of corn growing, tomatoes and sunflowers everywhere, a true urban homestead.  Their parking strip is full of veggies and flowers too.  The hens roost at night in one of the trees in the yard that overhangs the sidewalk, it's fun to walk past at this time of the evening (8 p.m.) and see the hens like basketballs in the branches, I tried for a photograph of them but the light was not good, I'll try again another evening.

97ºF.  Another hot one, hazy skies.  Tomorrow will be more of the same.
