I bought a new log with recesses for the jelly.  He was on one side and the one of the females on the other.  I photographed them together and was going to title it Date night.  However I suspected there was trouble in paradise, I just wasn't feeling the romance even with the warm lighting and soft focus.  Sure enough the date took a turn for the worse when I put them back in the tank.  She edged a bit too close to his plate of jelly and he promptly scooped her up with his antlers and flipped her over.  After righting herself she dug a hole in the floor and disappeared. Not the best date ever, then.
