Comfortless Cove, Ascension Island

The flight from the Falkland Islands to Brize Norton stops halfway, on the island of Ascension. I decided to spend a few days there soaking up the sunshine and enjoying what is a very unusual, and unique, little island.

It's covered in lovely sandy beaches but very few of them are actually safe to swim at. Despite it's name, Comfortless Cove is one of them and I spent a lovely afternoon basking in temperatures of 40 degrees celsius and swimming in the clear turquoise sea.
