Lathyrus Odoratus

Berwick

A superb walk over the South Downs this morning from Firle to Alfriston via Berwick in search of inspiration for my next lino print. The butterflies along this chalk hollow way were amazing - dozens of Chalkhill Blues and Common Blues as well as Wall. Best of all though were half a dozen silver-studded skippers and three Clouded Yellow - my first sighting of this non-resident species this summer. Unfortunately I'd only taken a wide angled lens with me so no butterfly images. I'm planning to go back to this spot as soon as I can on another sunny morning.
