Krakow - Day Two - It's the Seven Dwarves

The first serious day of walking, and in temperatures of over 30 degrees it was hard going at times.  But I’m loving Krakow and Poland, it’s a beautiful place and the people are lovely and very helpful.

We also took a trip down the Salt Mines at Wieliczka, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Staggering!  Amazing!  You walk down about 300 steps to get to level one, you can take an elevator but if even if you do you’ve still got a lot of walking to do down the mine.  We went down another level, which is about 125 feet below ground, but were told that there were still another 5 levels to go before you reach the bottom.  There’s even a restaurant there, and in the evening we were there somebody was getting married down there.  Bonkers!
