It's Wednesday so it must be . . .

Christchurch Priory.  Today it's a seventeenth century chalice veil with gold and silver embroidery threads.  It would have been laid over the top of a pall, which would have covered the chalice.  Both were designed to keep out dust and flies.  This is probably a Roman Catholic veil.

I don't know whether blipfoto is playing up, or my laptop, but this is taking an age.
