Pro Patria Mori

Shorncliffe Military Cemetery sits above St Mary's Bay and has the most glorious views. It is owned by the Ministry of Defence and is close to Shornecliffe camp.

During the First World War Shornecliffe was used by the Canadian armed forces and included a number of hospitals for Canadian casualties. There are 300 Canadian graves from that period. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission  identifies a total of 550 casualties here and that's where I got this information.
