Ironwork, Whitelocks

Whitelock's is one of the oldest pubs in the centre of Leeds, tucked in an alleyway off Briggate. It opened in 1715as the Turk's Head. In 1867 a John Whitelock acquired the licence, and the Whitelock family renovated the pub. It stayed in the same family until 1944.
This overhead wrought iron caught my eye as I cut through the alley.
Monochrome conversion using the Advanced Greyscale plug-in for Paint.net

*Photo tip: B&W was chosen here to emphasise the structural detail of the wrought iron. A side-benefit is that the bleached-out sky of this overcast day looks less obtrusive in monochrome.
If you have a scene with white skies (especially urban scenes), try the picture in black & white, as it can sometimes make the sky more acceptable.
