We bring to bear the entire weight of our collective imaginations when we name the creatures that frequent the yard. Buckybuck here has been visiting every day to collect windfalls (technically in our neighbour's yard). He is not at all sure what to make of me and my camera - he looks me right in the eye, as deer do, edging closer all the time while he decides how to proceed.  Eventually he can't take it any more - he gives a huge snort and takes off into the undergrowth. I can hear him snorting away a regular intervals while other (calmer) deer wander by and eat their fill.
