Mixed Sprint Relay

Today we got off the ferry in Newcastle, drove up to Edinburgh to drop some stuff off, and then went to Nairn for the first final of the World Orienteering Championships. This was the mixed sprint relay that was based on the parkland just south of the beach. The blip shows the second leg runners of Latvia, followed by Bulgaria, just about to punch the final control before handing over to their team mates. This control was on top of a hill and you could get good shots without the large crowd. The extra photo is of the winning team from Denmark, who won by over a minute; a large margin. The weather was great and we got our chance to run on the terrain after the relay had completed. In a portent for the week ahead, I missed out a control and spoilt an ok run.
