The Cathedrals Express

Heyford Station in Oxfordshire just after midday today, with LNER Class B1 No 61306 'Mayflower' passing through with the Cathedrals Express from Southend to Stratford upon Avon.  After seeing this we had a drive down to Oxford and had a very nice lunch in The Trout at Wolvercote, followed by a walk along the banks of the Thames.  I'd not walked along this stretch before and was really surprised; it's a beautiful stretch of river with shallow banks (good for paddling) and wide flood plains, good walking and superb views.  Truly idyllic!
