Did somebody say magic mushrooms

A sunny day and hot surprise surprise.  Washing all done and dried and put away.  A gardening friend called around this morning and I asked him what the fungi around the base of the beech tree was and he told me it was bracket fungi (ganoderma applantum). It looks pretty but is really nasty and kills the host in time.  
I didn't realise the bunnies were listening and when we went to day goodbye to Mac the bunnies were on the fungi whispering something about magic mushrooms. - not quite sure were they got that idea from!!
The fungi has now been removed from the base of the tree
