Misty and Wet at Corfe Castle

Travelled to Dorset to ride the Swanage Steam Railway to Corfe Castle.

It proved to be a typical English seaside holiday day with drizzle and low mist almost to sea level. Undeterred we joined other intrepid holidaymakers  on a walk up to the castle. Very wet but at least it was warm.

Rejoining the steamy train down to Swanage we walked along the well preserved pier  (extra pic) before sheltering in a cafe for a well earned traditional fish and chip lunch.

We felt sorry for the holidaymakers trying to keep the kids entertained but fortunately the rain cleared in the afternoon and the beach filled up with sand castle builders and even some swimmers. Despite the weather it was a lovely day out.
