The Grand Canal

I saw a wonderful painting by Mark Sofilas the other day in which he managed to make The Beck in Staithes look like The Grand Canal.

Clearly I've done nothing of the sort, but the strong south easterly this morning did cause an enormous amount of ripples that each called out to be seen by the sun.
