Afternoon dilemma

Thank goodness for a break in the wet weather today so that I could get a few steps of exercise under my belt.
I try to get some exercise each day. Nothing too strenuous, mind you. Just some walking, although I do welcome somewhere different to go walking.  The rain had given way to sunshine, and it was pretty warm.
But I was spoilt for choice. Which way should I head? All of the directions on the signpost in the centre of the village indicated places within reasonable walking distance, and I had mentally worked out that any one of these would burn up sufficient calories to be able to not only enjoy my evening meal when I got back, but perhaps have a glass of something to go with it.
In the end, practicalities came to the fore and I opted for a circular route round the village where for the most part there are pavements. The alternative to any of these destinations take in either narrow country lanes with no walkway, or a main road where although there is a pavement, passing traffic is unforgiving and too close for comfort.

I still managed just over four miles which I reckoned earned me that glass — of cider. Containing rather more sugar than ideal when you are being conscious of trying to lose a few more inches round the waist by shedding a few pounds from your weight — but still safer than a carton of juice!
