Shady Grove

A very pleasant day - lunch with friends at the Heron Gallery followed by a gentle walk: down the green road, upwards through birch and holly over this little stone bridge, higher again passed the stone circle, 11 or maybe 13 silent stones;  onto the mountainside full of heathers and gorse; down to the little road, a gushing stream at our side, banks strewn with montbretia; down to the old ford, low water and ivy clad bridge; a quick snoop around an old ruin, Guinness bottles in the windows; down to the strand, low tide and a few seagulls bobbing; through the field ablaze with purpleloosestrife and ragwort, down our little boreen, eucalyptus at the top. Cupán tae.

Comments will remain on but mine might be light until next weekend, so please don't feel you have to!

And by a bit of serendipity it might do for Mono Monday's Balance, thanks to Aphid for hosting.
